In 2014, Dorchester, Mass. started making some real headway in elevating Hip-hop’s respect for Boston rap with the the breaking of street rapper Cousin Stizz. From Fields Corner, Stizz has successfully made his way into the rap game, showing that top tier artists don’t need to come from hip-hop hub’s like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or Atlanta. Instead, he has paved the way for so many other new artists from different cities.
Also repping Dorchester, University of Syracuse student, LiBOSSI has been grinding toward adding more credibility to Boston’s Hip-Hop scene. When not in class, you can find LiBOSSI recording punchline after punchline. This kid has bars- a must listen if you’re getting tired of repetitive melodies, hooks and ad libs. Here is some food for thought, or some bars for thought rather… LiBOSSI’s new single, “Cheryl David.”
